The National Police College (NPC) is now accepting applicants for the Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Management (MCDRM) scholarship program
The Philippine Public Safety College (PPSC), one of the Commission on Higher Education’s identified specialized higher educational institutions (SHEIs), and under the auspices of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) is pleased to introduce to you one of its flagship programs, the Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Management (MCDRM).
The program aims to prepare the next generation of competent crisis and disaster risk managers with deep understanding on nature and issues surrounding crisis and disaster risk management, and the regional and global necessity of experts. It also aims to strengthen the communities in the country that are geophysical, political and sociological disaster risks handicapped by way of relevant trainings, sessions and courses. Thus, building a critical mass of leaders, scholars, practitioners, and policy advisers who will take the lead in strengthening capacities towards climate change adaptation, effective disaster risk management, and crisis management.
Significantly, the College recognizes the crucial roles of frontline personnel, local government units, and other government agencies in ensuring a safe, adaptive and resilient nation. In this regard,the offering of the Master in Crisis and Disaster Risk Management Program (PSOAC-MCDRM) was initiated with the need to prepare, capacitate, and empower our public safety personnel in the interior sectors (Police, Fire and Jail officers and other allied public safety institutions. This will be implemented at the National Police College (NPC) in Silang Cavite, one of the constituent units of PPSC, that is mandated to provide continuing education and career training needs of the police, fire, jail officers and other stakeholders.
It is delivered through Blended Learning Modality that combines face-to-face interaction and online classes andis being supported with partner institutions such as University of the Philippines System (UP), Ateneo De Manila University (ADMU), De La Salle University (DLSU), Office of Civil Defense (OCD), Climate Change Commission (CCC), and Earthquake Megacities Initiative (EMI). Due to this pandemic, classes are being held online utilizing the Zoom application and Neo-LMS as its academic platform.

1. Bachelor’s degree holder; 2. Holds a rank of Captain/Senior Inspector or higher 3. At least ten (5) years of service in the bureau of DILG 4. Nominated by respective Bureau Heads; and, 5. Complied submission of the following documents: – PSA authenticated Birth Certificate; – Endorsement letter from respective Bureau Heads; – Original Transcript of Records – Certified true copy of Diploma/s; – Latest Officer’s Evaluation Report (OER); – Command Clearance; – Unit Clearance and Certification of non-pending case; – CHR/ Ombudsman clearance; – CSC Form 211 (Medical Certificate) – Two pieces 2×2 ID picture; and, accomplished · Form 1 – Personal Data · Form 2 – Contract of Commitment · Form 3 – Scholarship of Agreement | 1. Holder of a key or executive position at the policy and decision-making level of any of the following: (a) vital and leading industries in the country; (b) reputable non-government organizations dedicated to social, economic and public safety and security related activities that impact on national policy formulation; and, (c) prestigious academic institutions and think tanks; 3. 30 – 55 years old upon admission; 4. Nominated by the private sector head / NGO representative / Civil Society of affiliation; and, 5. Complied submission of the following documents: – PSA authenticated Birth Certificate; – Endorsement Letter from Head of Organization or Board; – Original Transcript of Records; – Certified true copy of Diploma/s; – Certificate of Employment; – CSC Form 211 (Medical Certificate) – Accomplished Contract of Commitment by the nominating Chair or President of the sponsoring party; and – Latest clearances: a.
