HISTORY

The NPC was established pursuant to Section 66 of RA 6975 and fully operationalized on February 14, 1994. It is mandated to provide continuing education and career training needs of the police, fire, and jail officers.

The NPC conducts mandatory Officers Training Courses designed to develop quality and excellence in management and leadership for the overall enhancement of public safety and the criminal justice system. The NPC is the counterpart of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), the Joint Command and General Staff College (JCSC), and the Training Command (TRACOM) of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. While its main campus is at Camp General Mariano, Silang Cavite, NPC maintains Satellite campuses at Pampanga, Cebu, Davao and Zamboanga.

MANDATE

NPC Provides the continuing education and career training needs of the officers of the uniformed services of the PNP, the BFP, the BJMP, the PCG, and other Public Safety Officers.

To institutionalize responsive education and training programs for public safety leaders and practitioners.

MISSION

Produce graduates imbued with high moral and governance ethical standards equipped with professional management and skills necessary for effective in public safety services.

PHILOSOPHY

The NPC is committed to adhere to the PPSC’s institutional philosophy of developing a “professionalized corps of public safety personnel, who are open and sensitive to people’s needs, imbued with social moral values and a firm respect for human rights and democratic processes and oriented to become the best and the brightest.”
