The National Police College (NPC) celebrated Filipino heritage by hosting a Palosebo competition on March 4, 2025. The event, attended by student officers from the Public Safety Officers Advanced Course (PSOAC) and Public Safety Officers Senior Executive Course (PSOSEC), was a lively display of strength, agility, and teamwork. NPC Director DR. ROMEO S. MAGSALOS, DPSSG, MPSA led the activity, emphasizing the importance of preserving and promoting local traditions within the police force.

Palosebo, a popular Filipino traditional game, challenges participants to climb a tall bamboo pole greased with oil to reach a prize at the top. The event sparked excitement and camaraderie as student officers took turns attempting the slippery ascent. Their perseverance and determination reflected the discipline and resilience essential in law enforcement.

In his speech, DR. ROMEO S. MAGSALOS, DPSSG, MPSA highlighted the significance of cultural appreciation in shaping well-rounded officers. He encouraged student officers to embrace Filipino traditions as a means of fostering unity and national pride.

The Palosebo competition was more than just a game—it served as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage that shapes the values of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance among NPC officers. The event concluded with cheers and celebrations, reinforcing NPC’s commitment to cultural awareness and tradition.
